Your Make Music Now Lesson Structure
Familial Intervallic Series
We introduce you to the core concept behind the course which is a simple innovative approach to playing intervals which I adapted from studying with a Gyl master in Ghana, West Africa.
Major Scale and Chord Progressions
In this lesson we’ll delve into some theory behind the diatonic major scale and roman numerals which is the foundation for most music we listen to on a daily basis.
3 Note Voicings and Arpeggiation
Here we’ll build some more complexity to the familial intervals but adding 3 notes in each hand and give some insights on how to create and apply some interesting arpeggiated rhythms.
Rhythmic Diversity and Paddles
One of my core methods to playing rhythmically on the piano. We break the hands into 4 distinct rhythmic points to further your understanding of how to push into some new interesting soundscapes.
Melody and adding movement
In this lesson we’ll discuss unpack some theory behind melody and how to create some interesting textures to build upon the concepts already introduced.
Putting it all together
This is the final lesson of the series where I’ll show you how to apply “puppet hands” as a way of dropping the self-conscious state of mind and truly just playing from a place of heart and intuition. Play along with me and lose yourself in the new realization that you can Make Music NOW!
